| Wow...it's been a long couple of weeks. We finally finished staff training this past Friday. Had an...ineteresting night. It was good till it went bad. Anyway. We had our first school come in today. It is an unorganized week. Not because of anybodies fault, just because it happens to be one of those weeks and it happens to be the first one. I taught some Team Challenge this afternoon. It was good but I am still tired. My bday was spent fencing a pasture for the horses then a nice relaxing night in front of a movie. well. Oddly enough I don't have much to say. I miss my dog. I have no idea what to do with my life when i get done here in December and I miss people. That about sums it all up. Peace | | |
| I have slowly been adjusting back to camp life. It's been up and down. Mainly up. I have successfully gotten all three horses down here which took a HUGE stress off of me. However, now there is a new stress concerning them. the pasture around the barn is not very large and they have definately already eaten all of it. There is another pasture not to far down the road that would be great except it's not fenced in. So now some how I have to fence it. Hmmm...yep.
Staff training has been going well. We start at 8am and don't get done till about 9 or 9:30 at night. Long days, but good ones. They have been full of lots of laughter. Last night was the first time I got depressed slightly but it's all good.
Well I'd love to write more, but I have much to do and it's already 10:00. | | |
| I got to camp last night. I got so excited as soon as I pulled in the driveway. On my way to my cabin I stopped and said hi to Maggie and Joey, then went by Big Daves and saw him. I met one of the new guys named Jon. I am in the same cabin as I was last season and I am SO happy about that. Especially because I found out I am with this one girl Katherine and not this other girl. Not to mention I found out today that everyone else except one other guy is staying in the Hilton. I am not sure how I lucked out in getting a cabin! I was going to stay in my old room but decided to go ahead and take the other one. It just seemed more cozy and more comfortable. Plus it doesn't flood when it rains :)
The farrier is coming tomorrow afternoon to do the horses feet so it looks like I will be going home already. I have a few things left to do anyway so it's all good. Maybe this way I can get horses moved on Friday instead of Saturday.
Today I was given the task of cleaning and organizing the canteen. I helped out in the treehouse (that's where our offices are) and then Becky (the new program coordinator who rocks!) and I went and baked 470 cookies for one of our classes. We were very tired of cookies by the end of it. Then she, Jody (an office gal) and I went to eat lunch. Afterwards I finally got to the canteen and took care of that. Now after making a new price list for everything in the canteen I am going to head down to the barn and take another look around to make sure it's all good and ready to go.
:o) I love camp life. | | |
| the profile pic is one of our many beautiful canyons at McDowell. One of my coworkers took it last season. You can see more of his amazing photos at http://www.mineral2.com/photo/v/alabama/ | | |
| Howdy everyone. I have decided to specifically come up with a blog site seperate from my other one just for camp ramblings. I don't know why...probably b/c I am bored and will set this up now. Then, when I get to camp on August 23rd I will have it set up and ready to go should i choose to go ahead and use it. I will post pictures of camp and things like that eventually.
